Notorious motorbikes Thieves .....

NOTORIOUS MOTORBIKES THIEVE INFLICT CUTLASS WOUNDS ON A BUSINESS MAN IN TAMALE.

A Notorious motorbikes thieve Zakaria Hudu inflicted cutlass wounds on one Lukman Haruna a businessperson in Tamale the capital of the Northern Region on Tuesday October 3, 2006.

According to eyewitness, the complainant who was later turned accused for reasons known to the Police was on another motorbike when from nowhere Zakaria Hudu hit Lukman Haruna with a cutlass but for the intervention of the people around the victim would have been a dead person by now. This angered the people around who rushed to the rescue of the victim and gave the criminal severe beating.

The victim according to sources reported the case first. A trace to the Police station revealed a different story. The Police turned the matter against the victim.

Witnesses say that has been the modus operandi of the criminal, Zakaria Hudu and his father popularly called Hudu Engineer, a car mechanic along the hospital road of Tamale. They claim to have influence over the Police and the Judiciary. According to the people they have been attacking people and I always quick to manipulate the case with the help of the police and the Judges to their advantage. This is creating a lot of tension among the youth of the area and they have vowed to take the law into their own hands if the Police and the Judges continue to manipulate the cases in favor of the criminals.

Many of the eyewitness interviewed expressed shock about the incident. They did not understand why somebody in this era of rule of law could attack somebody with a cutlass in broad day light. They appealed to the Police and the judiciary to absolve themselves of such troublemakers and deal with them drastically to serve as a deterrent to others especially in this trying moment of the Dagbon area. They again appealed to the Police to let justice prevail as they watch with keen interest.

A security expert interviewed expressed shock about the behavior of the criminal and said that action could mar the fragile nature of the peace in the area.
