Now I own mansions all over the world - Ablakwa tackles Adom-Otchere, Adenta Kumi over US$3m house?

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa

North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has taken a swipe at detractors who he claims are fighting him over his dogged fight against state capture.

In a cryptic post on June 22, 2024, the lawmaker said unlike in the past when he was accused of owning fuel stations nationwide, now he is referred to as owner of mansions across the world.

"It seems that these days I no longer own fuel stations across the country; now they say I own mansions all over the world.

"Let’s expect more vile attacks from the cretinous lackeys of state capture. We must keep our focus — nothing must stop us from defeating state capture," his post read.

Allegation of mansion ownership

A recent claim of Ablakwa's alleged ownership of mansions within and outside the country was circulated on social media.

The allegation was floated by one Adenta Kumi on Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana programme hosted by Paul Adom-Otchere.

Kumi alleged that Ablakwa had two houses with a total worth of US$4.5 million. A US$3m house in the US and a US$1.5m lake house in his constituency North Tongu.

Ablakwa responds to fuel station ownership allegations

In February 2024, Ablakwa reiterated that allegations that he owned fuel stations in his days as a young politician and that he also flew abroad every weekend to school were untrue.

In an interview on Accra-based TV3's Hot Issues programme, where he answered a range of questions on politics, governance, corruption, and his personal life, he stated that he had at no point being into business.

"I'm not a businessman; I don't own any filling stations. I never flew abroad every weekend; how could one do that under the modest Prof. Mills? They don't provide any evidence. I'm glad time has vindicated me," he submitted.
