A high court has been inaugurated in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality to serve communities such as Pokuase, Amasaman, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Suhum and Anyinam.
The court would be temporary housed in the assembly hall of the Municipality until a new court building is constructed. The court would handle cases of land litigation, defilement and rape, among others; criminal cases would be heard at the recently opened Nsawam Medium Security Prisons High Court.
In an address, Mr Justice Dennis Agyei, an Appeal Court Justice of Accra, called on judges and the police to avoid all forms of bribery and corruption.
Mr Sampson Amoako Kwarteng, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Coordinating Director, said the Assembly would ensure that the cost of the permanent high court building is captured in its budget allocation.
Otoobour Nana Djankwasi II, the Aburihene and the Acting Adontenghene of Akwapim, pledged to offer land for the construction of the new court building.
