The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has issued a directive to its members across the country to, from November 1-6, wear red bands to demonstrate their displeasure towards government for neglecting their welfare and issues relating to their conditions of service.

“Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) or whatever agency, so far as you are paid by government, you must join the action to secure our welfare. The dialogue is now over. We now think otherwise,” a statement signed by the Greater Accra PRO of the GRNMA, Douglas Adu-Fokuo, said.

The association further threatened to, from 7th to 13th November, 2016, withdraw out-patient services and attend to only emergency and maternity cases.

They further threatened that from 14th November, 2016 onwards, if their concerns were still not addressed, they would resort to industrial action by withdrawing all services except to care for only in-patients.
