New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Centra, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has stated that told a founding member of the governing party to keep quiet and stop defending former president Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Mavrick Assin Central legislator, Kennedy Agyapong can’t seen to go a few days without making headline news, and this time he may have said his controversial statement yet.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen on Friday, April 21st, Hon Kennedy Agyapong alleged that Mr. Nyaho Tamakloe has been well aware of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama’s alleged infractions, but has kept quiet due to personal gains.

He further advised the leading member of the NPP to “shut up and allow” those criticising Ibrahim Mahama to talk.

Rumors of Ibrahim Mahama’s dealings with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) were first released by Hon. Agyapong.

“I have been vindicated and Nyaho Tamakloe should stop jumping into his nephew’s defence. They are all aware of the dubious act Ibrahim is involved in but kept quiet because of selfish gains but I will make sure he is sent to court, prosecuted and jailed. Nyaho should shut up and allow us to talk” he said.

The Assin Central legislators comments were in response to ones made by Mr. Nyaho Tamakloe, who saw this week’s convocations of Ibrahim Mahama to EOCO’s offices as a sign that President Nana Akufo-Addo was on a witch hunt; calling it “malicious”, “vindictive”, and reminiscent of the PNDC days.

“What surprises me is that this is happening under the nose of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo —somebody I sacrificed my life for and he knows it.

That is what surprises me but I wouldn’t like to talk much on that because I have also held him, until recently, [to be] one of the true democrats. But if this can happen under his nose then I can think we are in a different era,” Dr Tamakloe said
