The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has revealed that the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of embattled former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi was a former District Chief Executive (DCE) under the Mahama administration.

Dr. Martin Luther Obeng, according to the NDC chairman was the DCE for Agona East District in the Central Region.

“His (Nyantakyi) PRO is a former DCE under Mahama, he is a former NDC appointee but he has a job now…he’s benefiting from Nyantakyi’s fall…,” Allotey Jacobs said on Accra-based Peace FM’s Kokrokoo.

Dr Luther Obeng has been defending the former GFA President who is on a public trial following the screening of the investigative piece by Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

He has since accused the journalist of several wrongdoings including seeking to extort an amount of $150,000 from Mr Nyantakyi.

“Some of the issues are currently in court and so I will not disclose some of them but we will soon address the media on them.’’

Commenting on the political affiliation of the PRO, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako said he does not see anything wrong with the political affiliation of the PRO.

According to him, the PRO is entitled to his job despite his political affiliation.
