ONE AFRICA supports Adisadel Health Centre

ONE AFRICA, a Ghana based tour and specialty services company, on Tuesday donated a Foetal Heart Monitor and other hospital supplies worth GH¢ 3,000 to the Maternity and Delivery Unit of the Adisadel Health Centre in Cape Coast.

The medical supplies included surgical gloves, scissors, stethoscope, maternity first Aid kit and some books on Midwifery. A Foetal Heart Monitor is a portable instrument used to evaluate the well-being of a foetus in a mother’s womb by assessing the rate and rhythm of the foetal heart during labour and delivery.

The Chief Executive Officer of ONE AFRICA, IMAHKÜS Njinga Okofu, said the donation necessitated by an appeal made by the hospital during her previous humanitarian visit to the centre and also in keeping her commitment to assist the Unit where three of her grandchildren were delivered.

She said last year the company facilitated the cleaning and painting of the labour, delivery and recovery rooms of the maternity unit in addition to the refurbishing of the ward and the provision of mattress and other supplies.

Mrs Okofu said ONE AFRICA had also committed itself to assisting other organizations including the Cape Coast School for the Deaf, Akoma International Academy for Arts and Sciences and the Sankofa Mbofra Fie Children’s Home and School in Elmina.

The Nurse Manager of the Hospital, Mrs. Mabel Yirenkyi, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, said the items especially the Foetal Heart Monitor would enhance health care delivery in the unit and expressed gratitude to ONE AFRICA.
