A social group, Nyansapo Advocacy Movement, comprising listeners of the Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM's morning show Nyansapo, has donated items worth hundreds of cedis to the inmates of the Physically Challenged Action Foundation at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.

The inmates, who are mostly physically challenged persons, received items including bags of rice, assorted drinks, toiletries, and bags of sachet water.

The group donated the items on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Speaking to Maame Boahemaa Gertrude and Asonaba Kwadwo-Wusu after the event, the Chairperson for the movement, Debora Asare, said the gesture was to support the foundation, give hope to the inmates, and encourage them to aspire for greatness.

She added that the donation formed part of the group's areas of focus and contributed to helping the needy, putting smiles on their faces at the same time.

“Donations like these further confirm our resolve to improve the livelihoods and living conditions of mankind and people in our immediate communities. The items donated today were contributions from the members of the movement. This is what we stand for,’’ she said.

She, however, called on the public, particularly those in the Ashanti Region, to tune in to OTEC 102.9 megahertz every morning to listen to the Nyansapo show.

She again encouraged all listeners of the renowned radio station in Kumasi to join the advocacy group for stronger ties.

Receiving the items, Founder and President for Offinso Physically Challenged Action, Mr Sylvester Barimah Antwi, expressed gratitude to the group for the kind gesture.

He described the donation as timely, adding that the gesture would aid the smooth running of the foundation.

He appealed to the rest of the public to also visit the inmates and support them.
