Oda NDC aspirant assures supporters of victory

Akim Oda (E/R), Nov. 5, GNA- Mr. Kojo Atta-Krah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Akim Oda Constituency in the Eastern Region, on Thursday stated that the party's executives in the constituency have resolved never to allow themselves to be defeated through electoral malpractices.

Mr. Atta-Krah stated that all measures would be put in place to ensure that the party captured the two seats at Akim Oda and Akim Swedru constituencies, adding that there was no way that electoral fraud could deny the party the victory it would work hard for. The NDC aspirant stated this at a meeting with journalists at Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality.

According to him, they were going to be extra vigilant, in the Sunday, December 7 2008, presidential and parliamentary elections, to enable them to sweep all votes.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) later, Mr. Atta-Krah remarked that a new NDC, under alert and united executives had emerged to lead the party to victory in the 2008 general elections. The aspirant appealed to the media to do well and publish only the truth about all parties and should not have a hidden agenda to destroy any particular party.

He stressed that the people in the municipality would not allow themselves to be swayed again from giving their mandate to a party, which cared for their concerns and would not vote for a party that could not help solve their problems. Mr. Atta-Krah reiterated that the media had become a powerful organ in politics today and anybody or group desirous of making headway in the political struggle must not antagonize it. The aspirant however, appealed to the media in the municipality to always consult the NDC secretariat to ascertain the truth or otherwise of issues which were controversial before going to press. 05 Nov. 08
