Odoben SHS PTA warned encroachers on their land to stop

Odoben (C/R), July 7, GNA - The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Odoben Senior High School (SHS), has urged people who are encroaching on the school land to desist from the practice. Mr Albert K. S. Ayimful, Headmaster of the school said this at the PTA meeting of the school at Odoben on Saturday. He said the PTA of school has been meeting with the encroachers on the need to stop further encroachment on school land, but this has fallen on deaf eyes. The PTA therefore decided to send the issue to court to serve as deterrent to others. The headmaster also disclosed that the financial position of the school was not the best as a result of some parents' failure to pay their children and wards school fees. According to him government has directed that all management of school will pay a utility subsidy next term and therefore appealed to the parents to prepare for the payment of money. He said as from next term payment of monies to the school should be channelled through the school's bank account that would appear on the students' bills.

He was optimistic that this new procedure would help prevent students from using fees for other purposes or misplacing them. Mr Kwabena Sarfo, PTA chairman appealed to parents to invest in their children's education and to stop spending heavily on things that will not bring progress to them and the children. The PTA commended the students for purchasing 10 Channel Power Mixer, two speakers, one Microphone, and one D.V.D player valued at 820 Ghana Cedis for the school through church collection. 7 July 09
