Odododiodio Residents get free healthcare Screening

A healthcare screening exercise has been organized for over thousand residents in the timber market palladium community, a suburb in the Odododiodio Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.

The exercise which took place last Saturday catered for women mostly the aged and children was aimed at rendering free healthcare delivery as well as sensitize residents on the importance of ensuring good personal hygiene.

The programme which was dubbed 'My Personal and Environmental Hygiene" was organized by Life Building Family Foundation, a Christian Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Accra and partnered by the Ghana Locum Agency and Shalina Pharmaceuticals.

Activities include eye test, malaria screening for women and children as well as donation of used clothing, toothbrush to over two hundred children.

The Executive Director of Life Building Family Foundation in charge of Operations Ms Alfrida N. Aboagye in her address tasked parents especially mothers to ensure good sanitation in their various homes to avoid being attacked by preventable diseases such as cholera, malaria.

She added that they (parents) must ensure discipline among their children which would have a positive impact on the society with much focus on building strong family foundations based on biblical and religious principles has not been exempted from challenges.

Ms. Aboagye added that "Life Building Family Foundation will always remain adaptable, motivated and responsive to the needs of the social, religious, moral, psychological well being of the family and the less privileged in the society".

She called on corporate organizations, groups, individuals to put in place measures that would seek to address the quality healthcare of individuals within the society which they find themselves in.

Dr. Joseph Gyanteh of the Ghana Locum Agency expressed satisfaction for the successful exercise and advised residents to keep their surrounding tidy, eat healthy food, drink clean water as well as visit the clinic regularly to seek good healthcare always.

On her part, an Executive Director of the foundation responsible for Projects, Ms. Priscilla Adom Tawiah added in her welcome address added that the exercise was part of their contribution to help promote Public Health and also bring good health care to the doorstep of the good people of this community.

She also entreated residents to engage in preventive health practices to stay healthy always, avoid littering indiscriminately and to make their personal hygiene their greatest concern and commended their partners such as the Ghana Locum Agency, Shalina Pharmaceuticals, Esaabacomidas and Smiles Events as well as the former Assemblyman for the area Mr. Ziyaad Musa for the collaboration.
