Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Foyo Gbande has disclosed that the former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and 58 other ministers have been investigated and will be prosecuted and possibly jailed when the NDC comes to power in 2025.
During an exclusive interview with Onua FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Mr. Gbande disclosed that the NPP government caused the country's current economic crisis.
According to him, the economy was resilient when former President John Mahama was leaving office in 2016 after the NPP won the elections.
He stated that the NPP failed to fix the economic problems when they assumed power because they were busy stealing from the state coffers to the detriment of the growth of the Ghanaian economy.
"We have investigated 58 government appointees who have stolen huge sums of money belonging to the State. They can burn the ministries; they can burn documents; we have the docket already. We have investigated them," he hinted while claiming that some of these appointees stole and kept the money in their houses with their girlfriends.
Mustapha Gbande added that the monies that were stolen are monies that could be used for developmental projects.
"We will jail Ken Ofori Atta even if he dies. If John Mahama doesn't jail Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghanaians will rise against him. Ken and 58 others will be prosecuted. They have stolen the money, and Nana Addo has supervised him," Mustapha said boldly.
