The Member of Parliament (MP) for La-Madina-Nkwantanan Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Amadu Sorogho, has called on Muslims to continue to pray for peace, unity and prosperity for the country.
He said Allah abhors divisions in human society; therefore, there is the need for all Ghanaians, especially Muslims to respect and love one another "so that the peace of Allah would prevail in all facets of the society."
He appealed to them, especially the youth, to put their political affiliations aside, come together and reflect on how best they can move the constituency forward, adding “Divisions always retard progress and development.”
Alhaji Amadu Sorogho gave the advice when he addressed a group of Muslims during the installation of Ogbojo Muslim Community Chief (Sarkin), Deputy Chief (Galadima), Imam and Queen mother (Magajia) at a colorful ceremony at Ogbojo, in the Adentan Municipality.
A 64 year old driver, Alhaji Mudasiru Alhassan; Alhaji Halidu, 63 year old businessman; Sheikh Rais Hassan, 60 year old and Hajia Zufau Ibrahim, 60year old woman, were installed Chief(Sarkin), Deputy Chief (Galadima), Chief Imam and Queen mother (Magajia) respectively.
Hon. Sorogho charged them to bring all Muslims in the area to live in peace and harmony with other ethnics groups and be law abiding.
He asked the Chiefs to lead the Muslims in contributing to the overall development of Ogbojo, Greater Accra and Ghana, and also apply fairness and justice in the settlement of disputes.
Chief Alhaji Baba Seidu, Chief of Madina, who chaired the function, appealed to the newly installed chiefs and queen mother to use their "good offices" to promote peace and development in the Ogbojo area and to co-operate with other traditional rulers to move the area forward.
