Cape Coast May 8, GNA- A free medical care programme was on Saturday organised by old students of Cape Coast affiliated schools, including University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology for about 1,000 people in the Cape Coast municipality. The medical out-reach team treated people with malaria, eye problem, blood pressure and dental problems.
It was undertaken by doctors from Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, medical students of the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and nurses from Cape Coast Nurses Training College.
Mr George Bessa Simons, Co-ordinator of the programme said the exercise was to provide the opportunity to the old students to reciprocate the kind gesture of the citizens of Cape Coast, and its environs, during their student days.
The exercise was sponsored by a number of organisations, including Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Unilever, and Ernest Chemist, all in Accra.
