Oguaa holds praise and worship night to herald Golden Jubilee

Cape Coast, March 3, GNA- Hundreds of people including the aged and children on Friday night conversed at the Chapel Square in Cape Coast for a praise and worship event as part of activities to mark the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee.

The programme, which was among others put in place to make the celebration a success, brought 93 back life" into the celebration which took off on a very slow note.

The four hour praises and worship section was jointly organized by the Ghana at 50 jubilee regional planning committee, central regional prayer and evangelical council (CENTRAPEC) and churches in the region, under the theme; 93It is the Jubilee, it is Holy unto you". In attendance were the Regional Minister Nana Ato Arthur, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II Omanhene of Oguaa traditional area, Mr Abraham Duman Odoom, deputy minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Ken Nunoo Special Assistant to the Regional Minister and a host of pastors and priests from the various churches.

The crowds were treated to gospel music and lessons from the Bible which depicted the significance of jubilee and activities such as Passover, Feast of Tabernacles and Pentecost.

Nana Arthur particularly thanked God for the region and the celebration and stressed the need for people to change their attitude toward the celebration and be proud to be Ghanaians and join in the celebration.

He stated that the region could only avoid challenges such a poverty disease, indiscipline and child labour if the people change their ways and be come committed and resolute in their duties and urged them to desist from politicizing the celebration. The Minister, in this regard urged all, no matter their political affiliations to join in the celebration and eschew acts that would bring indiscipline, disunity, disease and war. 03 March 06
