Bola Akinsanya emerged as the National President of the Ogun State indigene forum in Ghana at a ceremony held at the Washington Hotel on Sunday, April 21 in Ghana's capital, Accra.
The dignitaries present at the event were Former Stanbic Bank Board chairman, Alhaji Fattau El Azee; Otunba Suleiman Ahmed, Saheed Ikorodu, and NIDO President, Prince Adeyemi Akinwande.
The Ogun Indigene Forum (OIF) is a coalition of professionals, elites, artisans, youths and students of the Indigenous people of Ogun state in the diaspora. The group aims to unite all the indigene of the state and foster peace, and unity between Ghana and Nigeria.
Bola Akinsanya in his acceptance speech expressed his gratitude to the delegates from the four existing regions (Ashanti, Central, Volta & Greater Accra) for the trust reposed on his team as they pledged absolute commitment to serve the community.
The new national executives believe accountability remains a core foundation of an
association while indicating that the welfare of members will be of focus in their tenure.
They promise to bridge the gap through collaboration between the indigene in the diaspora and statesmen back home to grow in the area of investment and promotion of cultural diversity.
Ogun State historically produced outstanding individuals who have contributed greatly to Nigeria's development.
The other executives are Vice-President, Alhaji Hakeem Salam Faisal; General Secretary, Dr. Tunji Osho; Assistant General Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Bashiru; Public Relations Officer, Mr. Onimole Babatunde; Treasurer, Chief Adeoye Akinola; Assistant Treasurer, Dr.Olanrewaju Kelani and Financial Secretary, Hajia Sherifat Braimah.
The others are the Organizing Secretary, Amb. John Akindele; Welfare Officer, Coach Akibu Nafiu; Internal Auditor, Madam Salami Kabirat Feyisara and Chief Whip, Mr. Odusote Imisioluwa Jacobs.
The inauguration will be held at a later date.
