Chief Bugri Naabu, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his astonishment concerning the assassination allegations made against him by the former NPP General Secretary, Nana Ohene Ntow.

In an interview with GhanaWeb, he explained that he has no qualms with the former NPP Chairman, who he still considers as a friend.

He said, ”I will still say that he is my friend. Even before party, he used to take stories from me when he was at GBC. He came to take press releases. When we have contractors meeting, he comes and listens to us. I’m surprised. I have been meeting him and we talk, we have a rapport. I’m surprised he went to sit down there and talk this. No wonder they planned to destroy the party.”

Bugri Naabu further urged Ghanaians to rubbish the false allegations made by Ohene Ntow.

“I want Ghanaians to know that all what he said to Captain Smart, he was telling lies and nothing but lies.

”I’m sorry he mentioned Kwadwo Mpiani; Kwadwo Mpiani and myself we have never had any argument. We are very good friends. In fact, I call Kwadwo Mpiani my brother and he calls me his brother. I don’t have any problem with Kwadwo Mpiani. And Kwabena Agyapong is my younger brother because, I have been in that family even before the old man passed away, before the mother passed away. I have been advising Kwabena Agyapong on some of the issues. So, I have no problem, I have never quarreled with Kwabena Agyapong. So, he should rather talk about his own plan of assassinating people, instead of talking about me,” Bugri Naabu stated.

Bugri Naabu further said that during discussions concerning the individual fit for a flagbearer, he saw Nana Addo as the person fit for the position, compared to Kennedy Agyapong.

He said, “Because at that time, what they talked about, looking at Kennedy, Nana Addo was the best candidate for the party. In every party, If you look at the affairs and the way things are going, you should be able to know who can lead you. And I saw that Nana Addo was the best.

"I didn’t want to kill people because of Nana Addo. I can explain and talk to you but not to the extent of killing you. It is not true.”
