Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II is safe after his convoy was involved in an accident on Sunday, 17 June, the Okyehene Kyeame of the Akyem-Abuakwa State, Nana Kwadwo Antwi-Boasaiko, has said.
The Okyehene’s convoy was involved in the accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
His car crashed at Ankaase, a village near Osino on the main Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region.
He was returning from a national golf awards dinner at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.
Eyewitnesses say the vehicle veered off the road into the bush to avoid colliding with an oncoming tipper truck.
There were no casualties.
Speaking to Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM Monday, 18 June, Mr Antwi-Boasiako said the police in the region are investigating the cause of the accident.
He added that the Okyehene is safe and is going about his normal duties.
