Okyenhene In The Netherlands

The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, on Monday, September 5, 2005, left Accra for the Netherlands on an official visit. He will be away for 10 days.

A release signed by Nana Yentumi Boaman, the Abodeesahene and chief of staff at the Okyenhene?s palace, said as part of his itinerary, the Okyenhene would visit the Hague to meet various ministers for discussions on the environment, health and education.

He will also visit Wageningen University, where he will discuss the official linking of the Okyeman University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies with the Wageningen University.

The release said the Okyenhene would also meet the mayor of Amsterdam and officials of the Netherlands Institute of Multi-party Democracy to discuss Ghana?s current democratic dispensation and the role of leaders.

The Okyenhene will also meet with business executives and heads of environmental and health non-governmental organisations (NGOs), as well as meet with chairperson of South East Amsterdam, Mrs Elvira Sweet.
