The 2000 year group of Nandom Senior High School (SHS) Old Boys Association (NASSOBA), has donated textbooks and other educational materials worth GH¢8,000.00 to enhance teaching and learning in their alma mater.
The items included textbooks covering different subject areas, atlases, storybooks, and other learning materials to help equip the school’s library.
The Chairman and Spokesperson of the Group, Mr Rashid Tindogo, said the donation formed part of the 50th-anniversary celebration of Nandom SHS scheduled for the coming months, adding, “We want to equip the Library with modern textbooks to help students pass their exams”.
The books total about 200 copies from 50 different subjects, meant to stock the School’s Library for ease of access by students.
Mr Patrick Dugle, a member of the Group, said it took the intervention of the school’s library for the 2000 year group to excel in their final exams, hence the need for them to give back to the school by supporting it to promote teaching and learning.
“Some of the subjects were not having teachers during our time but we made good use of the school’s library to pass our Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination,” he said.
He added that their teachers instilled discipline in the students at that time and advised the current crop of students to study hard and make good use of the library as a resource centre.
