'Nananom' 2000-year-old student's of Oda Senior High School have donated hospital equipment’s to their alma mater in order to equip the school’s health bay.
The equipment’s which worth about GHC15, 000 include hospital beds, hospital stretcher with drip stand, wheelchair, three in one waiting chair padded, 32” Television with multi TV decoder, a medication fridge, weighing scale, infra-red thermometer, stethoscope, medicines (paracetamol and dewormer), medical screen, gloves, ointments, providine, gauze, infusion sets, hand towels, hand sanitizers, bleach, spirit, medical scissors.
Presenting the equipment’s to the school, the President of the Old Student’s Association, Daniel Obeng Siaw, said as past student’s the ‘Nananom’ 2000 year group is by this kind gesture to see to it that there is a “kiss of life to the school’s health bay.”
According to him, the group could not have achieved this without the support of the members of that year.
He, however, pledges to serve his colleagues to the best of his ability since there are much more activities to be done for the school in order to compete equally with their peers from the region.
Giving a brief history on how the group was formed, Mr Obeng Siaw stated that after they left school in 2000, they all went their separate ways, some furthered their education, others started their own businesses whilst the rest of his mates travelled abroad to seek for greener pastures.
“Currently, we have almost all the various levels of careers in our mist, some amongst us are Entrepreneurs, Engineers, Teachers/Lecturers, Accountants, Politicians, Contractors, High-level farmers, Agric superintendents, IT and Communication Professionals. This represents a true reflection of determined individuals with a solid academic foundation,” he said.
“On the 15th day of November 2014, a lady by name Frances Nunoo created a WhatsApp group to help bring us together again as one big family. Currently, we have managed to bring together 135 of our colleagues and it is our hope to attract the rest of them because it is our belief that there is strength in numbers and we can do wonders with a good number who are very active on the platform” he added.
'Nananom' 2000-year-group later paid tribute to their colleagues who have departed to eternity and asked the Lord to give them eternal rest.
