Omari Wadie: Why I sent 'Mahama sex photo' to Randy Abbey

Randy Abbey, the host of “Good Morning Ghana” show on Metro TV has debunked the assertion that he betrayed and caused the arrest of Michael Omari Wadie, who is currently being investigated on suspicion of doctoring and publicizing indecent photos of the president.

According to Mr. Omari Wadie, he sent the already doctored pictures to a close confidant of President John Dramani Mahama with the view of prompting the seat of government about the photos being circulated on the internet.

He, however, fell short of mentioning any names, but followers of the matter believe it was Randy Abbey he was talking about; the suspicion was re-enforced when Mr. Omari Wadie sarcastically expressed gratitude to the Morning Show host for his predicament.

Mr. Abbey who doubles as the Chairman of the Referees Appointment Committee of the Ghana Football Association, categorically denied ever having any conversation with Omari Wadie on the said picture.

“I have never had any discussion with Omari Wadie about that picture, so he could not have contacted me to alert anybody. Nothing of that nature has occurred, absolutely nothing. “I have not communicated with him. The last time I saw him was some two or three months ago at Asylum Down, and on that occasion, I did not get down from my car but spoke briefly, and that was it. I have never had any interaction with him with respect to that picture, never,” he explained.

In response to the insults on his person on facebook, with respect to the case, he was of the view that: “we live in a country where people are very good at fabricating stories, creating their own distortions and talking about them”. Though he confirms condemning the act of doctoring the portrait of the First Gentlemen of the land, the “Good Morning Ghana” show host insists he did not call for Omarie Wadie’s arrest.

“I have never called for his arrest. I do not know what an arrest of Omarie Wadie would do to me. What would it add to me?” he asked. Randy Abbey further challenged Michael Omarie Wadie to be bold and not hide behind the social media, to attempt to wage a campaign of insults at him, but come out with any evidence he has to the effect that he (Randy Abbey) is the mastermind of his arrest.
