One Ghana United Against Ebola is a project of the Ebola Education Fund (EEF), EEF is a private sector led Ebola Education and Prevention initiative spearheaded by Dalex Finance Ltd. The fund was established to harness private sector resources to fund education on the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). Donations are being accepted in cash and in kind.
Posters and flyers have been donated to the Ghana Health Service, the Ghana Army, the Prisons Service, churches and private sector organisations. Donations received so far include air-conditioned tents to be used as isolation centres. The funds initial target is GHS 1,000,000 and Dalex Finance has pledged GHS 100,000.
The Fund will galvanize private sector participation towards the fight against EVD. At Dalex Finance, we believe that the strategy to ensure EVD is managed should not be left to the Government alone, we as a people must come together and make a national commitment towards the fight against EVD. If education is the biggest weapon, then self-help is the sharpest sword.
As we all take keen interest in what is happening in other countries, we as a nation should begin to put measures in place to ensure that our country will not be the one to make headlines on the Ebola outbreak. Ghana must be on the news for the right reasons.
Why One Ghana? EVD does not discriminate between rich/poor, old/young or male/female. As a nation, there are certain issues that we should come together and address as one People and EVD is one of them. We are on country united by a common destiny and we must come together under this vision.....One Ghana United Against Ebola.
The launch of this campaign will signal a new national awakening in the fight against EVD. We must all rise up to educate ourselves and all those around us about EVD. Dalex Finance and their partners B&FT, UNICEF, the Ghana Health Service and major media houses in Ghana will gather together at Rawlings Park on the 18th of October by 8 am for the Launch of the Campaign.
