One person is reported to be in critical condition after a tree fell on him on the morning of Monday, May 6, 2024.
This was during the heavy rainfall that characterized the morning, a video report by Accra-based TV3 has said.
According to the post on X, the news channel said that the tree also fell on a 4-wheel drive.
"One person is said to be in critical condition after a tree fell on a motorcycle and a 4-wheel drive.
"This was after heavy rains in the early hours of today, May 6," the caption said.
In another post shared by Alexander Fifi Abaka (Xerda) on Facebook, it provided additional information on the incident as follows:
"Tree breaks down and falls on motorist at Togo Embassy area. Circle is currently flooded cos the Odaw is overflowing its banks. Kindly avoid the place if you can."
As can be seen in the attached video, a black 4-wheel drive and a motorcycle were trapped under the tree.
In the TV3 video as well, some men were seen trying to saw off the tree so as to get the car and the motorcycle from underneath it.
The morning of Monday, May 6, was filled with heavy rains accompanied by strong winds.
