Former Asante Kotoko chairman Opoku Nti came close to appointing FIFA-trained Emmanuel Dasoberi as permanent administrator for the club during his tenure, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The club legend, who was in charge of the club between 2013 and 2015, wanted to inject some professionalism in their administrative structures.

But he was unsuccessful in his move to lure the graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in Sports Administration and Major Events Management.

Nti was accused of running school-boy management and criticized for his lack of technical know-how which cost him his job.

"That's very true. It was a long battle. He wanted Kotoko to have a well resourced Administration,'' the now CAF Instructor and Stadium Inspector told GHANASoccernet.com

"But you know that I wasn't too certain and secondly two of my mentors did not allow it.

"Opoku Nti pushed hard. He assured me that he was going to convince Manhyia to make my position a non-political one but I was still thinking about it before he left.''

It is been established that the absent of a professionally-run Kotoko secretariat is the cause of the club's mishaps.
