Following the confirmation of the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's running mate for the 2024 elections, the Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has shared a congratulatory message on NAPO's appointment.

In a post shared on X, the Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency welcomed NAPO to his new appointment, adding that it is time for the party to launch its manifesto and galvanize support in the 275 constituencies.

"Congratulations, @MatthewOPrempeh, on your nomination by the leader and Council as our VP candidate. Our next step is to launch our manifesto and hit the 275 constituencies, battling for every single vote," he said.

After a meeting held by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NPP to deliberate on the candidate the NPP's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, submitted as his preferred choice for the running mate race, the Manhyia South Constituency MP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was approved to run beside Bawumia in the 2024 election.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh was confirmed by the Council on Thursday, July 4.
