Opposition Parties Have Nothing to Offer - Agyepong

The press secretary to President Kufour, Mr Kwabena Agyapong has strongly criticized the country?s opposition parties for their increasing attack on Mr Kufour?s personality instead of his government?s programmes and policies.

Opposition parties in the country have increased their attack on Mr Kufour?s personality. Yesterday, opposition parties made up of GCPP, NDC, PNC, NRP and CPP described the president who is known in political circles as ?Gentle Giant? as a bullying giant who is harassing and terrorising his political opponent.

Early last month, Dr. Tony Aidoo one of the controversial leaders of the NDC described Mr. Kufour as a dumb and later in the same month, the former president, Rawlings said Mr Kufour is a disgrace to Ghana.

Mr Agyapong speaking on Peace FM?s morning show programme ?Kokrokoo? on Thursday, 8th April 2004 said opposition parties have resorted to personal attacks because they are overwhelmed by Mr Kufour?s government performance and have no alternative than to attack him personally. The opposition parties according to Mr Agyapong must concentrate their efforts on the vision they have for Ghanaians and stop descending into personality attack which offers nothing for the country?s democratic dispensation.
