The Former Chairman of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) Naval Captain Retired Baffour Asase Gyimah, has stated that it was totally wrong for the Head of the President-elect’s transition team Yaw Osafo Marfo to go public details on the accusations of last minute government recruitment and selling of State assets.

According to him, Mr Marfo should have been discreet in the release of the ‘alleged’ information and discussed with the two transitional teams saying the accusations could be untrue.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, Rtd Capt Gyimah said this is classified information which shouldn’t be in the public domain.

‘You try to desist from acts that will destabilise the incoming government, you have to be mindful of your actions and put the country first during the transition period, don’t only think about what your party stands to gain. It is disturbing on the part of the head of Nana Addo’s transition team Osafo Marfo, to release information that the NDC government is recruiting and signing new contracts. This is classified information which shouldn’t be in the public domain. People need to be matured enough in handling information because it could bring untoward to the country,’ he stated.

Touching on the elections, he questioned why Ghanaians did not vote for the Mahama- led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government based on infrastructural projects.

He advised the President-elect to put in place measures to mitigate the sufferings of Ghanaians by living a legacy for generation.
