Osei Ameyaw ready to work with any other NPP flagbearer

Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman Constituency Kofi Osei Ameyaw says he is ready to work with any other flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if he fails in his bid to lead the party ahead of the 2016 elections.

Mr Osei Ameyaw is one of the seven aspirants seeking to lead the largest opposition party into the 2016 Presidential Elections.

Two of the aspirants will be dropped on August 31 at a special congress, Special Electoral College, ahead of a scheduled October 18 Conference.

The Asuogyaman MP said: “If it is not myself, I will equally give my support and work hard for the other person who is elected as the flagbearer to win the 2016 elections.”

He was speaking to TV3’s Kenneth Osei Ampofo on Monday, August 11 after he met journalists in Accra to complain, among other issues, about “operational lapses” in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.

“Elections, according to the Electoral Commission, are won at the polling station and so far our actions have not been directed to interfere in the registration exercise,” he said about the prevention of some agents of the NPP in discharging their duties at some polling stations.

“The Commission should, therefore, allow our agents to do their work,” he stressed.

Mr Osei Ameyaw was confident the NPP can win the 2016 elections with the right leader.
