Osibisa Radio Launches Service in 8 major countries

Osibisa Radio located in the heart of London has launched services in eight (8) major countries with a promise to expand and diversify and provide more options and more choice to listeners in the coming months.

This came to light when Mr & Miss Black Beauty UK led by Miss Alicia Hixon visited the Studios of Osibisa Radio to launch The Afro-Caribbean Top 10 UK Music Chat Show over the weekend. Speaking to the team that accompanied the beauty pageants to the studios, Mr Archibald Hammond, the Director of Programmes at Osibisa said, “Six (6) months after our launch, we have seen our listener numbers grow remarkably, we have outstripped the numbers we projected for the first 12months by over 400%. We have therefore commenced the implementation of our expansion programme aimed at reaching out to more people and providing them with more choice and more options”.

He said the station is positioning itself to be the station of choice for the diaspora community especially. “We want to be the station of choice for the Ghanaian Diaspora Community, and our DIAL-2-LISTEN service which has just been launched is one of the steps towards that goal”. Touching on what has been the unique selling point for the station, he said “the professionalism and the quality of Programmes we provide at Osibisa can be credited with the remarkable growth that we have seen. We have not even reached 40% of what we planned to offer the public, in the coming days, weeks and months, we are rolling out new programmes – just stay tuned” he emphasized.
