Otiko Djaba launches foundation to honour her late father

Immediate past Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba has launched a foundation in memory of her late father, Henry Djaba.

The foundation, named Henry Djaba foundation aims at working towards the socio-economic transformation of the vulnerable and the disabled as well as empowering women and children.

According to the former minister, she launched the foundation to honour her late father on what would have been his 85th birthday because God had been good to her.

She described her father as someone who inspired people, cared for the vulnerable in society adding that he was an initiator.

She said “he could not achieve so much without education, drive and opportunity and his life’s journey is the inspiration for setting up this foundation”.

Otiko Afisa Djaba went on to say the foundation aims to transform the lives of the vulnerable by empowering them economically and building their capacity to be self-reliant.



“Our vision is to contribute towards the creation of an equal and equitable society which respects the rights and interests of all persons irrespective of gender, social class, religious persuasion or ethnic origins,” she added.

The foundation also aims to collaborate with strategic partners to work on the economic empowerment of marginalized groups in Ghana.
