Otumfuo’s award explained

Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, briefing Otumfuo about the upcoming programme, said “Otumfuo what you have done at Dagbon beats human imagination and so you deserved to be honoured”.

He noted that the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis, which claimed precious human lives, destroyed properties and brought about abject poverty, initially seemed insurmountable.

Mr. Ofori Atta aka ‘Tom Tom’ stated that it required the wisdom and patience of Otumfuo and the other eminent chiefs before the feuding factions agreed to eventually smoke the peace pipe.

“Otumfuo you have been on the Golden Stool for 20 years and you have used 17 of those years to work tirelessly to restore peace and unity at Dagbon and such a feat needs to be honoured”, he said.

Mr. Ofori Atta disclosed that plans are in the pipeline for his group to partner with a firm in Poland to manufacture special notes with the portrait of the Asantehene as part of the “Pillar of Peace Award” for Otumfuo.
