The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has released a parcel of land for the construction of a library in the Manhyia South Constituency, in the Ashanti region which is expected to boost learning in the community.

This was disclosed by the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called ‘Napo’, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency.

Addressing a gathering at the St. Anne’s Anglican Church in Kumasi, Napo stated that he as MP of Manhyia South Constituency, initiated the library project idea.

He continued that, getting a land for the construction of the ultra-modern library project became a challenge but the Asantehene, who values education intervened.

"I have good news for you, our overlord, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has released a huge parcel of land for us to enable me build an ultra-modern library facility to boost education."

“On behalf of the entire residents of Manhyia South Constituency, we are eternally grateful to Otumfuo for his continual support in the developmental process of the constituency”, he stated.

Napo stressed that the construction of the library project would help boost learning in the constituency, since Dichemso and Abbey’s Park, also in the constituency, already have similar library facilities.
