The weakness of male lecturers in the country’s universities is women according to a Senior University Don with the Linguistics Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum.

“It is a disgrace for the university and many are arguing that this is not the first time such things have happened. Kwame the weakness of men most especially lecturers of universities is women…it happened to David in the Bible. Sampson suffered same fate”, he told Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

According to him, what has befallen Prof. Ransford Gyampo and Dr. Paul Kwame Butakor can happen to any other man irrespective of his status in society.

“It can happen to any of us here but let us take it as an opportunity to advise ourselves”, he observed.

Professor Kofi Agyekum also bemoaned the practice where female students are in the habit of worrying male lecturers in what he termed as ‘grades for sex’ which in his view must also thoroughly be investigated.

“It is also possible that female lecturers also worry male students in that regard and I think we need to broaden the investigations because it happens both ways. Our senses make us prone to entrapment. If we do not allow God to guide us we can become victims of such traps”, he revealed.

He took the opportunity to counsel male lecturers to be careful and learn not to fall victim to such incidents in the future that may affect the credibility of the University of Ghana.
