Outgoing Communications Minister inspects project

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, outgoing Minister of Communications, on Thursday reiterated government's commitment to preserve the country's National Data Center (NDC) for future reference by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MMDAS).

He said the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Better Ghana Agenda under late President John Evans Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama was determined to save Ghana from the "cellos’ problems of information.

Mr Iddrisu said this at the inspection of the National Data Center project initiated by the Ministry of Communications and constructed by the Top International Engineering Ghana Limited (TIEC) in Accra.

He said the building would serve as a multi-purpose data center and also accommodate the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and other agencies of the Ministry.

Mr Iddrisu said the project was expected to be completed early this year and urged the contractors to complete the project within the scheduled time.

He said the inspection was symbolically his last assignment at the Ministry and thanked the Chief Director and staff of the Ministry for the cooperation and support given him.

Mr Wang Gang, Project Manager, thanked the Minister and gave the assurance that the estimated 24,000 million Ghana Cedis seven-storey project would be completed on schedule.
