Outgoing East Gonja DCE declares support for President's nominee

Salaga (N/R), June 23, GNA - Mr Bismarck Haruna Dari, the outgoing District Chief Executive for East Gonja, has declared his support for Mr. Amadu Abudu Musah, the President's nominee for the post of DCE for the area.

Mr Dari told the GNA in an interview in Salaga on Wednesday that the nomination of Mr Musah should not divide the people and the party in the district and appealed to all Gonjas to support him to ensure the development of the area. "It is important for those of us who have not been retained to help the incoming ones to develop our areas by guiding them to continue our development plans and not to engage in acts that would kill the New Patriotic Party". He said Gonjas are peace-loving people and politics should not divide them. ''The most important ingredient of love is to support others to achieve what would be in the interest of the people.'' ''All of us are seeking the interest of the party and petty matters are not going to do the party any good hence, my decision to support the nominee.''

Mr Dari said though some people painted him black during lobbying for the position he was not perturbed about the President not retaining him. "This is the time I will help the in-coming DCE to achieve what I did not finish". He appealed to those opposing the nomination of Mr Amadu to put the past behind them and to ensure that the party did not become unpopular in the district. Mr Dari urged all the assembly members to approve the President's nominee to ensure victory for the entire Gonjaland.
