A member of the Public Relations (PR) Department of the Ghana National Fire Service, ADO Alex King Nartey, has said that over 100 fire cases were recorded from Friday, December 20th to Sunday, December 22nd.
Speaking on Kasapa News, Mr. Nartey emphasised that the harmattan season should be given attention.
He advised individuals fond of burning to take caution to save themselves and others.
“People just light fires for whatever they want to burn and leave the scene afterwards. You look for them and you can’t even find them, and by the time they realize, the fire is out of control,” he stated.
He urged farmers who use this opportunity to till their lands before the rainy season to also take precautions.
“Those who use the opportunity to visit home should also make sure all electrical appliances are turned off before leaving to prevent any fire cases in case there is a disruption in the power supply or a fault in their absence,” he advised.
