This week hasn't been short of news as many issues have been the centre of discussion across the media landscape.
These issues were discussed on news analysis show Newsfile as host Samson Lardy Anyenini was joined by Sulemana Braimah, Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa, Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Ningo-Prampram MP Sam George and a representative from the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association.
This panel discussed matters arising from government's decision to award Chinese company Startimes a contract to expand an existing facility built by a Ghanaian company K-NET.
K-NET took over the contract in 2015 after contract with same Chinese company Startimes was abrogated for not delivering up to expectations. The K-NET contract was deemed to be $13 million less than what was originally signed with Startimes.
GIBA and other stakeholders have raised red flags over the deal heightening the controversy surrounding it.
Also discussed during the show was the issue of recent fuel hikes at the pump and the distress calls by Ghanaians.
Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors CEO Senyo Hosi, Sulemana Braimah, Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo Markins joined host, Samson Lardy Anyenini to dissect the issues and propose likely measures to avert any future impact of increases on the Ghanaian.
