Saturday's edition of JoyNew’s news analysis show; Newsfile saw panelists focus on crucial issues which made the headlines over the week, most notably, the consistent hooliganism perpetrated by some vigilante bodies in the ruling New Patriotic Party government.

Leadership of the NPP have come under public scrutiny particularly after some youth in the Ashanti regional wing of the party disrupted a meeting in Kumasi which had the Monitoring and Evaluation Minister, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei present. While some have lambasted the party for condoning lawlessness, others are calling for immediate action taken against all such groups to ensure order.

Other subjects including the alleged involvement of Former President Jerry John Rawlings in the murder of some judges during his era; an allegation made against him by one of his bodyguards during his term as President as well as the ‘mix-up’ about Second Lady Samira Bawumia’s delegation to the WHO confab featured on the show.

Whereas Rawlings has described revelations made in a Joy News’ documentary, ‘Who Killed the Judges? As a twist of history intended to mar his reputation, Ex-Corporal Mathew Adabuga, the said bodyguard says his former ‘Boss’ cannot be excused from culpability considering he gave the order for numerous murders for both soldiers and civilians who were buried in mass graves at Achimota Forest and Airport runaway.

Also, news emerging Thursday clarified that Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia’s delegation to the First World Health Organization Global conference on Air Pollution and Health in Switzerland is actually made up of six members and not 20 as earlier suggested by Minority Spokesperson on Foreign affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The crew also touched base on issues regarding the IGP’s failure to comply with an Accra High Court order to release police escorts for the evacuation of occupants of some 12 blocks at REDCO Flats in Tema.
