PPP now attractive than NPP - Kofi Adams

The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has stated categorically that his party has nothing to do with the raid at the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) headquarters earlier this week as being peddled by the opposition.

According to Mr. Adams, NPP commentators are trying hard to involve the NDC and President John Dramani Mahama in their internal politics which he said is not going to work.

He revealed that the biggest challenge in NPP currently is lack of good leaders to hold the party together and move ahead.

“Though the NPP has a flagbearer, he has refused to pay attention to the infighting in the party and is rather "roaming around the world in the name of amassing support for the party,” he said.

Speaking on Okay Fm Morning Show yesterday, Mr. Adams said the recent raid at the party’s headquarters and other infightings have made the NPP no more attractive to the youth and this has compelled them to rise up against their leaders.

“I think there are no leaders in the NPP anymore that is why those small boys are up against them because they are fed up with the problems in the party,” he said.

After the party’s headquarters was raided on Monday dawn, members of the opposition party have fingered the ruling government for masterminding the act because the faceless armed men were believed to be in military attire.

The suspects have since been granted bail by a Circuit Court who were charged with unlawful entry, unlawful purpose on private premises and causing unlawful damage. Mr. Adams could not understand why the NPP is pointing fingers at the NDC when some ‘powerful people’ in the NPP are the ones behind the raid.

“Even when these suspects have said why they ransacked the party’s headquarters, the NPP are deliberately accusing us wrongly. I think they are just desperate for power. PPP is even now attractive more than NPP.”

“We are in government and if something happens, we are the same people who will spend money to fix the mess and so why should we involve ourselves in this petty situation,” he declared.
