Akim Oda, March 30, GNA - The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Akim State College at Akim Oda is building quarters for teachers of the college in addition to incentives being provided to boost their morale to ensure increased output. Mr Samuel Mensah Quaye, chairman of the PTA, who announced this at a PTA meeting at the school on Saturday, appealed to parents to provide their children with the required educational materials to promote teaching and learning. He also advised parents to ensure that their children learn during vacations to complement efforts of teachers.

The proprietor of the school, Nana Yaw Asare Dzikunu, asked parents to pay their children's school fees promptly so that the authorities could provide inputs necessary for academic work. He said the college had employed experienced tutors to ensure effective teaching adding that plans were far advanced to extend telephone facilities to the educational institution. Mr Dzikunu called for closer co-operation between the PTA and officials of the school to make it one of the best in the Eastern Region.

A member of Board of Directors, Mr Sampson Kwadwo Bempong said a scheme had been established to award students who would patronise the school library to encourage them to cultivate reading habit.
