Fumbisi (U/E), April 15, GNA- Twenty-two Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) who contracted a 5-million-cedi loan from the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly (BMA) in the Upper East Region for their various trades have paid up the loans on schedule.
The loan, which was acquired from the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) of the assembly in 2002, enabled the beneficiaries to undertake tomato farming, Tie and Dye production, and petty trading. Mr. Henry Adivila, an official of Action for Disability and Development (ADD), an international NGO operating in the region, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Fumbisi, in the Builsa District of the Upper East Region.
He said his outfit played a key role through its appraisal mechanisms to ensure that qualified individuals and groups who had received management and bookkeeping training organized by the Resource Centre For People With Disabilities and ADD, had the loans.
Mr. Adivila appealed to the Municipal Assembly to increase the loans for the group for remaining faithful.
