Painting and Decoration students need recognition

Accra, Aug. 10, GNA - The Painting and Decoration Students Association of Ghana (PADSA) on Wednesday appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to give the needed attention to Art Work to ensure that students in the painting and decoration industry were recognised.

The Association said the PADSA College had been introduced to painting and decoration students to help them to upgrade their programmes and to aid students to gain practical attachment at various companies for experience among other things.

A statement signed by Mr Baffuor Kyei Awuah, President of the Association, however, expressed worry about the negative perception the public had about the programmes offered by members of the Association for which members had been refused to do their practical attachment with them due to the low level of their certificate.

This according to the statement was demoralising students of the programme and appealed to the Ghana Education Service to help upgrade the programmes of PADSA to ensure that the students were well placed after completing their courses.

The statement also appealed to nongovernmental organisations and other corporate bodies to help the Association financially to enhance its activities.
