Parents asked to ensure quality education

Wassa PWD-Camp (W/R), Sept. 5, GNA - Mrs Ruth Orr of the World Bible School in the United States Parents, on Friday advised parents to forge closer collaboration with teachers and other stakeholders to ensure quality education in the country.

He said education was an effective tool for progress and urged parents to ensure that their children acquired higher academic qualification, skills and knowledge necessary for national development.

Mrs Orr who was addressing the second open day of the Ruth Orr Preparatory School at Wassa PWD-Camp in the Wassa West district appealed to children to be disciplined and learn hard to enable them to pass the examinations to justify the huge investment being made on them. She present 1,500 books on various subjects to the school gave the assurance that 2,000 more books would be donated to stock the school's library.

Madam Comfort Asamoah, proprietor of the school, commended Mrs Orr for her gesturer and appealed to philanthropists and organization to contribute to the development of the school.

Nana Efua Yaadwo, Queen mother of the area, advised parents to stop spending lavishly on funerals marriages and other ceremonies and rather invest in the education of their children.

Nana Kwesi Ansah II, Chief of Brahabebom, appealed to the people and the Wassa West District Assembly to contribute to the improvement of facilities at the school and donated 10 bags of cement to the school. The pupils and students of the school performed cultural displays and recited poetry.
