Former Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Henry Kwabena Kokofu has asked the leadership of parliament to apologize to Ghanaians over their decision to build a 450-seater new parliamentary chamber.

According to him, they have done a lot of disservice to the people of Ghana for prioritizing their interest over the interest of the majority Ghanaians who voted the NPP into power.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that the NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo owes it a duty to honour his promises to the people of Ghana as the 200 million US dollar project is not a priority.

"The NPP government is committed to providing basic amenities and social infrastructure for the people of Ghana and we will not lose focus on that."

"I believe that Parliament should be focused on helping the President achieve his basic aim and goal rather than doing things to suit their whims and caprices," he added.
