Pastor blames Ghana's economic woes on Greed

Adaklu-Kodzobi (V/R), Aug. 4, GNA - The Reverend Lawson Dzanku, Chaplain of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) University College in Ho, has blamed Ghana's economic problems on mismanagement, selfishness and greed on the part of those entrusted with the job of managing the country's wealth.

He observed that the interesting irony was that many of the bad managers were Christians.

The Rev Dzanku was preaching the sermon on the theme "Yearn for the food that endures forever", at a fund-raising rally organized by the Adaklu-Kodzobi E.P. Church at the weekend to purchase musical instruments.

He said many Christians "have thrown the fear of God aside and are desirous to get rich through any means possible". As a result, ritual murders and internet frauds were rampant while the narcotic business was growing, he maintained.

"How many years would one spend on earth that we should agree to sacrifice a fellow human being in order to get rich?" The Rev Dzanku wondered, and said the land given to Ghanaians was so good that Ghana would be a paradise if the people changed their lifestyle. He advised Ghanaians to be content with what God gave them, and to look up to Him for more blessings.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu-Kodzobi, observed that if Ghanaians, many of whom are Christians, lived by Christian virtues at their work places, the country's destiny would change. An appeal for funds yielded 1,000 Ghana Cedis.
