Pastor urges government to treat national issues seriously

Takoradi, Dec.31, GNA - Reverend John Ernest Kwofie, a Senior Pastor at the First Baptist Church at Bakaekyir, Sekondi, has called on the government to handle national issues on non-partisan basis. This he said would ensure national unity and move the development agenda forward.

Preaching at a New Year service, he said, "National issues should be seen and handled as such without partisan consideration and irrespective of the government in power".

Reverend Kwofie who is a member of the Western Regional Peace Advisory Council and the Regional Multi Sectoral Commission on Children said politicians must relegate partisan interests to the background when it comes to national issues in order to win the support and co-operation of the people.

He urged Ghanaians to take stock of their personal lives and overcome their sinful behaviour and other negative attitudes and strive to unite their families in the New Year.

Reverend Kwofie said personal stocktaking would help Christians to assess their contribution to national development and resolve to actively participate in nation building.
