General Secretary for the Church of Pentecost Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi has established that the Church of Pentecost has not banned members from taking sexually provocative pre-wedding photos but rather discouraged the act.
Unlike news reports floating on the internet that the church of Pentecost has banned members from taking sexually provocative pre-wedding photos, the church has indicated that, they are yet to take steps to ban the act, for now, are discouraging members from partaking in it since it does not depict the characteristics of a true Christian.
Speaking in an interview with Boamah Darko on the ‘Maakye’ show, the General Secretary of the Pentecost church, noted that the church has always frowned upon the act and is only stressing on its stance against it.
“I would like to say that the church of Pentecost has not yet taken steps to ban some of these photos with sexual connotations but for now (the church) is condemning the act and discouraging members from taking such photos because as christians we are to set a certain standard or way of living that follows the path of Christ.
And this is nothing new, the Church has always frowned upon this act and we are just reiterating on our stance against it, not to say we are stopping our members from taking pre-wedding photos, we can not do that but those that are sexually suggestive is what the church is condemning” He said on Hot 93.9FM
Meanwhile, the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ghana(SDA) has also backed the call to ban sexually suggestive pre-wedding Photos.
The Director of communications, Accra city Conference of the SDA, Elder Kwabena Ofori Amoah said:
“it is a great call and if all churches in Ghana were to follow this directive and call on their members to desist from such ungodly acts, it would bring some sanity into the system because it has become so ugly how Christians portray themselves in the name of courting which does not glorify God” He added.
