The Ashanti regional Communications director for the Convention People’s Party Osei Kofi Acquah has called on President Nana Akufo Addo to sack Lands and Natural Resources Minister John Peter Amewu.
The sector Minister John Peter Amewu earlier this week in an interview claimed state lands were given away to cronies like ”kelewele” [fried pieces of plantain] without regard to due process.
The Rawlings administration was accused, under a divestiture programme, of selling state properties including the Nsawam cannery to the then first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
He also accused ex- president Kuffuor’s government of selling Ga lands to cronies.
But Osei Kofi believes Mr. Amenu’s comment doesn’t depict that of a minister hence should be fired.
Speaking on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, Osei Kofi described Peter Amewu’s comment as baseless, unsubstantiated adding he sees no reason why the Lands and Natural Resources Minister should be kept at post to continue making such malicious comments.
”I feel Amewu is not doing well perhaps the job is too big for him so he should sacked with delay”.
”This man has been very inconsistent and keep making false comments which I think should be brought to order by President Nana Addo. He should either be sacked with immediate effect, how can you be going around mentioning names of people who bought the lands cheaply without any authentication’’
