The Head of Communications of the Office of the Speaker of Ghana's Parliament, Peter Bamfo, made history when he was unanimously elected as the Secretary of the Legislators' International Network for Collaborative Solutions (LINCS) at the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) annual business meeting.

The NCSL was established in 1975 by state legislators and legislative staff and serves America’s 50 states, commonwealths, territories, and the District of Columbia.

The election took place on October 21 at the NCSL headquarters in Denver, Colorado, USA.

This landmark decision makes Bamfo the first International Secretary of the Conference, signaling a significant milestone in fostering international collaboration among legislators.

"I am honored to accept this position and to serve as the voice of our international members. Together, we can build bridges and create innovative solutions to the pressing issues faced by our communities," he told GhanaWeb.

With his background in communication and experience of parliamentary affairs, Peter Bamfo brings a wealth of experience and unique perspective to the role.

As Secretary of LINCS, Bamfo will play a crucial role in expanding the network's reach and impact, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.

This election underscores Ghana's growing influence in global legislative governance and Peter Bamfo's commitment to enhancing dialogue and partnerships across borders.
